BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY CANCELS SCHEDULED EVENTS FOR MAY 28TH
By Bakersfield Speedway Media
BAKERSFIELD, CA – MAY 17, 2011... Due to projected low car counts, Bakersfield Speedway promoter Scott Schweitzer has cancelled the events scheduled for May 28th. “After consulting with the scheduled headlining division we felt that the fans would not get there money’s worth of racing entertainment this night. I think we would be better to cancel then to have upset race fans in this business” stated Scott Schweitzer.
Winged sprint cars, mini stocks, mini dwarfs and the hard top were originally scheduled for the May 28th event traditionally billed the “Memorial Day Classic” as it is held on Memorial Day weekend. No date will be selected for a make up race.
“Memorial Day weekend is a great weekend for racing and I’m disappointed to be going dark this night. I myself will probably go visit another dirt track and watch some racing then get back to work for our event planned June4th” added Schweitzer.
The West’s Fastest 1/3 Mile High Banked Clay Oval will back to its regular racing schedule June 4th with an exciting night of racing planned featuring IMCA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, American Stocks, Mini Stocks and the Mini Dwarfs. The Bakersfield Speedway is located at 5001 N. Chester Ext. Bakersfield, CA. 93308. Race info: 661-393-3373 or
