To the Race Fans, Officials, Management, and Fellow Competitors of Santa Maria Speedway

On May 8th 2010 in the 3rd points event of the Hobby Stock race season. In the Hobby Main event I lost my temper.
(to say the least), willfully turned my car around on the speedway racing surface and intentionally looked for the 15 Car of Mr. Fraizer to do as much damage possible to both. And of both attempts I could not bring myself to follow through. I would unintentionally hit 31 Car of Charlie Scovell in pulling away from my final attempt at the 15 Car of Mr. Frazier. (which I have aplogized to Charlie for) And now apolgize to the fans that could hear my expletives afterwards.

Now....

At the time, not being able to think clearly, and enraged at the fact that I knew the officials were not going to do anything to
Mr. Fraizer for rough driving, (which has been about the only thing that has been consistent at the speedway this year, and as of now proving me right by allowing Mr. Fraizer to finish the race in 2nd place)
is the reason I took it upon myself to do the job of the officials in the only way, at the time, I could do. Which, as a patron of the speedway is something I should not have to do, under any circumstances. But what choice has been left ? None.

The threat of "black flagging" drivers off the track for rough driving has been a long running joke amongst all of the competitors at the speedway. (ask the IMCA Mod drivers they will confirm). There have been individuals who have been black flagged / banned from the speedway this year as most well know. But not enough, Not nearly enough black flags have been thrown for rough driving. It is now to the point to where I feel that it is delibrate, as if trying to cause incidences such as this. Which is BS. This costs unnesessary money to be spent on wadded up race cars, lowers the car counts, and looses fans. For most, money is real tight nowadays. Only individuals of low character enjoy watching thousands of dollars worth of cars get torn up night after night. Not me.

I dont mind getting leaned on a bit. On the track that is all part of dirt track racing its not like pavement you just dont have the same ammount of grip, its to be expected from time to time. But I have raced Mr. Frazier now for 5 years or so. And over the years we have had some good clean racing and of recent some not so clean racing. He does know full well what he is doing, He is a good driver when he wants to be. If he is so much faster than me why did he not just go around me. Why should I be pissed at him?, he has been driving like an idiot because he knows he can get away with it. I should be pissed at the officials who are not making the calls. Like I mentioned already his 2nd place finish for the night proves it. I know I am not the cleanest driver out there but I do try.

If a driver knows in his head solidly that he will be black flagged off the track if he gets into the back of another car, he will have to be a complete moron to even think about assblasting another competitor. Such as was done to me Saturday night by Mr. Fraizer. I was in second place at the time.

Should I have driven backwards on the track looking to get back at Mr. Fraizer?.....No

Should I be penalized or booted from the track for what I did?.....Yes
 
Should Mr. Fraizer  be given a final warning as to his rough driving other competitors and suspension if another rough driving event caused by him occurs?......Yes

Am I going to let this issue go?.... Not a Chance

To much time, money, and effort has gone into everyones racing programs to just allow rough driving by anyone to continue. PERIOD.

For those who want to take a stab at me and this post.... Better have all your facts straight and dont even think about putting words in my mouth, or spew lies about me.

I am man enough to admit my mistakes and to take corrective action to prevent them from happening again, be it with the car or myself

I will accept and abide by any decision the Santa Maria Speedway has in regards to me in this matter  

Are you Mr. Fraizer man enough to sit out a race if the video proves me right? (you and I both know I am right.... Remember?)


As of the time of this posting I have not recived any communication from the speedway management also apparently Mr.Fraizer's 2nd place finish still stands. I was told that same night just shortly before leaving from two unnamed employees of the speedway that there will be no further repremands against me other than me being black flagged off the track for the remainder of the already completed nights event. Of course, we will all see if that has changed after this posting and the others that are sure to follow.

It is wonderful that you are making a public apology for your actions on Saturday night.  

What is confusing, however, is that the following paragraphs are accusatory generalizations.  When you start with an apology, and then follow with accusations, then it is almost like the apology never happened.  I know you did not intend that to be the case; you are venting.

As for lack of black flagging, I would ask whether you have ever listened to the radio traffic between the officials?  For that matter, have YOU ever considered being an official yourself?  

I can personally tell you that being an official is a thankless job, and people will always accuse others before looking at themselves.  There is no one person who makes a black flag call; it is a compendium of parties, all on the radio, making the call, and the final call is made (or not made) by whomever is in charge.  

I was in the stands Saturday night, and have seen my share of BS on the racing surface.  I do not recall ever seeing someone deliberately run in the wrong direction with the intent of hunting down and hitting another vehicle.  

I am pleased that your rage abated before you in fact impacted with the 15.  No matter WHAT has happened, it is not acceptable to even consider retaliation of that caliber.  

I would invite ANYONE who believes that being an official is a simple prospect; it is not.  Perhaps you wouls like to volunteer for a couple of weeks and see for yourself...

As far as the officiating goes ...hmm what to say. I just think they get complacent watching sometimes. They need to at least shake the flag at people to give them a warning. Let them know they are being watched. We are hobbies and are seen as bangers to the outside world. Even though we have been a relative clean racing group, we still have the stigma.
I will be totally straight. I told Frazier he was using his door on people Saturday and its not the end of the world. He was surprised and generally and truthfully doesnt see it. I promise you that he will evaluate it and will probably be harder on himself than we will be. He is racing hard for that championship and pressing a little. Its an adjustment and thats all. He is still the fastest guy there.
Glenn, your fast too and pissed just like I get. Thats fine, your nowhere near getting banned as far as I can see. Dont trip potato chip. Glenn, I want to say this as softly as I can. Your car is all over the place when I try to pass you and I get touched up regularly by the nose of your car. I know when I pass you, it better be around instead of under or your momentum will hit my door everytime. It doesnt matter if its the heat race or the main. That boat swings into the corner and swings out of the corner like a stinking sledge hammer.
I used to hate passing scoval a couple of years ago because he would change three lines every 50 feet. Now he just passes me without a wave. Hell, Robert READ drove smooth last Saturday night. All I am saying is be honest with yourself. We can talk on Wednesday, oh and you and Frazier are coming. If I have to come get you I will.
By the way, Kirk or kurk or kurt or kaurt Morgan still sucks. As far as I am concerned he is scared to race with us anymore. PRIMADONNA!

And by the way, WHAT THE F&*K are we racing for with guys backwards in the middle of the track. YELLLOOW! That was the biggest bunch of BS I saw saturday night. I am just about to go on the high side of another car at full speed when I see a car in turn 3 and 4 backwards. No yellow or warning. If I had hit that guy then you would have seen some fireworks. Ill hook a chain to the track fence and rip that crap down...BAAALIEVE IT!

Agreed, I am not above reproach, If I am driving like a jackass out there, I fully expect to be warned and then booted, if I keep it up after being warned
