New Strip, Dirt Track, Paved Oval in Lancaster?

Looks like there is a possibility that a new motorplex complex is being discussed in the Lancaster area. The AVMotorplex will have a 2-lane, 1/3 &1/4mi. dirt track and a 1/2mi. paved oval if it comes to pass. Ever since LACR closed the search has been on to replace it. Willow Springs has hosted some 1/8mi. drags but racers want a 1/4mi. strip.
This news broken to you by a guy from Alabama, LOL.

I saw that. Finally a proposed facility with reasonable goals. I mean geez, the Riverside thing in Atwater, Yosemite Motor Speedway in Madera and the Tulare deal....why would anybody invest in a Nascar, IRL, NHRA and even a larger road race series event (let alone investing in the facility) when Long Beach, Pomona, Fontana, Sears Point and Laguna Seca with thier larger, established, more affulent/useable demograph are within a few hours?
This one at least has a chance at getting a pulse. Sorry about the rant. I've grown tired of the pom-poms being waved in my face here in the valley touting these mega track mirages.

There is a brand new dirt track at the AV Fairgrounds 100% new grandstands and other facilities. has been ready to go for at least 5 years.
They havent been able to get a promoter to come in run it (they want the promoter to do alot)

Had meeting with the fairgrounds board in 2004 and they where wanting $5,000 a night rent and 2.00 dollars for parking for each car and we finish the track, need more lights, snack bar, bathrooms, clay and a few other things back then. They also wanted 50% of the snack bar and beer. It would have taking about $140,000 to complete. They came down to around $2,500 a race and 25% of snack and beer and no billboard. Great race track it was a true 1/2 mile race track at the top of the bottom groove when I drove around it back then.
This would be great for someone that has the extra money to wager and see what shakes out.

i hope whatever one takes off stays within the 1/4 to 1/3 mile bracket. or at least have the options along with a 1/2 mile.
would be great to see another choice. the AV has a huge market to draw from if done right.
