BODIES:
1. Must be mfg. stock for year model used. Fenders, doors and rear quarter panels may be interchanged with similar models as long as end result is Stock appearing. Any fabricated body part must be min.22-gauge steel or ALUMINUM

this will be interesting to see what this produces. people complain about how the SS look. hope it doesn't happen to the hobby class. why the alum.? can't be because it's colored already. colored alum. is like 40ga not 22.

Tim-- He has a "Stock appearing" clause at the top. He wants stock steel roofs with stock appearing bodies. We have been running fabricated bodies for a few years now- so nothing has changed looks-wise. Same look, different material. I believe he is trying to help us in the fact that he has dropped the minimum weight to 3200# and placed a max weight of 3600#.

I think his rule package is spot on for this class. It's where the class was already anyway. I have heard a rumor that an American stock class may be in the mix for 2011 or so- so that should help with the order of things.

I kinda agree with Tim on this deal.  The rule for the SS class reads ---BODIES GUIDELINES:
1. Bodies should be semi stock appearing.

As you all have seen, there is nothing even close to "semi stock appearing" about the SS.  Not saying I dislike them, just saying they are a long way from  "semi stock appearing", some people even get them mixed up with the LM's.....................

Tim, you are right, the thickness of the steel shouldnt matter if we are allowing Aluminum. Doesnt make sense. I will change it.

I dont want semi stock appearing Hobby Stocks. I want STOCK APPEARING !!!

Fixed spring buckets allowed on rear of coil cars only.

this is from bako's rules. if leaf cars can run blocks then coil cars should get something also. jmo

If you have something dangling.... you should wear tighter underwear--LOL

I don't see on SMS rules where it allows "fixed spring buckets allowed on rear of coil cars only"-- did I miss it?

yea if its within the rules, the offset bushing is not readily noticable
