I am really not trying to bash Riccardi , just stating the obvious . now as to what chet posted your right 91p was a bit outta control on that turn trying to clear 66, car was ugly tight and i am sure you know the feeling(driver felt he could manage and until that point wasn't hurting anybody), we brought him him later to make adjustments and when it seemed like that wasn't enough improvement made the call to park it! I know when a car is just too foul to to even try . the difference is that when we return to the track we will be trying to improve, thru set up and driving skills, but that other car just seems to do the same thing every week . Chet you are also wrong in stating that the 66 holds a consistent line , the incident that Jason V. is refering to when Kirby nearly clobbered him he came outta 4 on the bottom and went all the way to the top and back to the bottom.

Jason was working turn 4, and I completly trust what he says he saw.

66 car was on pace to be lapped 7 1/2 times in that main event. Mike and I talked in the infield. I explained to him that, that is just to far off the pace with the Speed of these cars and it is my obligation as a Promoter to keep everyone safe and do my part in keeping Race cars from getting tore up. He agreed. He also said he should have pulled in, because he was having problems.

It is not realistic to think that a Rookie or a Veteran can safely pass a car everytime, that far off the pace.

Mike is a super nice guy and obviously a great supporter of the track. He is struggling with the set up of this new car. He and I will talk again and decide what a safe minimum speed is for Late Models at Santa Maria Speedway.

My last engine would use 4 gal in 30 lap main. Blame it on all that Danny Rich HP. Hell, over half the cars where parked in the end field on lap 24, I thought the race was over.
