$1,000 to win features for Kings' May 22, 23 Rotating Right WWMT Southern Tour dates

HANFORD, Calif. (April 30) - An early Memorial Day Weekend doubleheader takes the Rotating Right Wild West Modified Southern Tour to Kings Speedway for Friday and Saturday, May 22-23 shows.

Both IMCA Modified main events at Hanford will pay $1,000 to win and are qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. National, ButlerBuilt Western Region and Smiley's Racing Products State points, as well as special series points, will be awarded each day.

Race sponsors are KAR Graphics of Hanford and Action Equipment Rentals of Hanford and Madera. Hanford Towing will also give $100 hard charger awards to drivers improving the most positions from start to finish in the respective features.

Pit gates open at noon on Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The draw closes at 3:50 p.m., hot laps follow 4 p.m. drivers' meetings, the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 5:30 p.m. both days.

Entry fee is $65 and includes the driver's pit pass. Pit passes are $35 for Kings Speedway members and $45 for non-Kings Speedway members. Adult admission to the grandstand is $10. Seniors and military are $8 and kids 12 and under get in free.

More information is available by calling 559 587-1111 or by emailing kingsspeed@sbcglobal.net. Information about overnight accommodations and racers' rates in the area is posted on the www.kingsspeedway.net website.

Ninety-five different drivers have competed at one or more of the tour's first six events. Point leader Ricky Alvarado is the only two-time winner this far, while Guy Norton, Steven McCollough, Paul Stone and Tim Ward each own single victories.

The second half of the 16-race Rotating Right Wild West Southern Tour starts with another California double dip, with events Friday, June 12 at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville and Saturday, June 13 at Bakersfield Speedway.

$1000.00 to win $100.00 to start $100.00 hard charger award each night. After looking around at california tracks, I dont see why there shouldn't be over 40 cars per night. How many Cali cars are coming.
How about a BBQ in the Pits.

WoW.This should be one of the best mod races of the year.  We saw this series run at Vegas during the Duel in the Desert where they awarded the champion a brand new motor.  It was the best modified race that I saw last year.  There are a ton of competitive cars that run this series.  This is a great chance for California modifieds to run against some of the best and not have to go to Boone Iowa to do it.  Frank and Jon have put a lot of work into the track this year and it will be nice to see a good field of modifieds support the race!

This is a great opportunity to race 3 nights in one weekend. Kings friday and saturday and then antioch on monday. I spoke with Justen Yeager and he said that both him and Ricki Alvardo who is the 2 time champion, are going to make the trip down. Should be a great field of talent, I can't wait.

What is the compete pay down?  First place on down? How much are the pit passes to get in and what time are you going to open the pits? Sounds like an interesting event. Do I have to purchase any additional memberships to get all those points and stuff your talking about? thanks

According to the "Wild West Modified Tour Series", the payout is as follows:

http://www.wildwestmods.com/wwmtpurse.html

Not sure if Kings is paying the same.

I thought they might have the paydown on their website being it's a big show, but they didn't. But in2mile is probably right and the payout is the first one listed, thought I seen it awhile back on kings site for $750.00 and then the took it down after they raised it to 1,000. Either way a good 2 day race.
