Finished 4th went too scales and know one was there. So took it to the pits instead of waiting.

They all went off the track together....did the 72 & 97 go over the scales???? If so the 68j should have been right there too!!! :-?

I wasn't in the pits, don't know what happened, that was the call that was made so other cars must have made left turn.

Billy said everybody stopped at the hose to cool down. He was first one done at cool down went to scales said no one was there. So he went to his pit. Realizes now he should have waited.

that stinks, i'm just not sure an honest mistake should cost you that much. maybe just a fine would be better. maybe there should be a future rule change there. jmo

^ You serious? It sucks that billy got dq'ed but all the drivers know. Week in and week out the top four of almost every division line up at scales and wait for the official. I'd personally rather someone go to tech and pass or fail than just be aloud to drive straight to pit and pay a fine.

yes, i was serious. it seems to work for Nascar. it just seems alittle to aggressive for a none performance infraction. he wasn't found to be cheating at a performance level. just made a dumb *ss mistake.

Looking back I should have parked the car. We were at the watering station for about 3 minutes. I was the first car to head over to the scales but nobody was around. Usually the officials are always there. The mods were still on the tech pad and at the time I just figured they scrapped everything for the SS so I went back to my pit. I'll just learn from that and head to the next race. I had a good race with Brian and Lonnie. We get a few throw away races so that helps me not be as bummed. b

Scaled and checked 7800 Chip.

Fortunately Billy is running all the E/W races, so he will be able to throw 3 or 4 out (depending on the outcome of the vote to make 6-22 an E/W at SM). It cost him some money and being DQed in general probably stings a little, but it shouldn't make that big of a difference in the overall E/W points race at the end of the year.
