Yeah Lee got out front and nobody was gonna catch him  but overall a race worthy of the legendary Budweiser Nationals at Bakersfield Speedway...

What I heard was that he actually spun after the yellow was already out, for another incident

White flag was waving and the green lite was still on when Billy was entering 1.The yellow came on when he was entering 2.I guess something must have happened in turn 3 or 4 .

It was what HRD3 said, the officials are human and some interpretations may differ. The spins happened real close to same time, 66 got lucky or they were lookin' at the other end expecting trouble, either way, it is what it is.

The 04T car spun the 66 when his Lf hit the RR of the 66. The 04T got a LF flat from the contact. The 66 got spun.

One more thing on the Super Street class that makes it what it is.  At the Bud Brady Bell pulled Lee's old car out of the weeds and put Billy Griffin in it.  He was competitive all night in that car.   And of corse that was cool of Brady as he did it to help out the class.  Thats why I like the Supers and the group of drivers involved.

Don't know where pitter was seeing the turn 1 incident from as you sure get different opinions from different vantage points but I suggest you check ou the onboard view from the 68j car.  Should make it pretty apparent what happened.  The 68j was trying to trap the 66, the 66 was doing his best to lap the 4T, the 4T was holding a line right against the wall just as you're supposed to do and 66 didn't have him cleared when he slid up just a little and he made contact with 4T. In other words all 3 were doing just what they should do and that's why it's called racing.  Don't see any fault with anyone.
Bakoresults says the yellow was called for the spinning car in 3-4 just before so we're glad 66 got his spot back and he and Simpkins had a good race.
Thanks to everyone in the SS class for a clean race and to the 68j for the video.

I don't think Jeremiah really knew I was there.  We never touched for sure, In fact I rolled out of the gas to make sure we didn't touch.  If you look at the out cam his nose to the crash wall while the white flag is being thrown and still under green.  I accept the fact they didn't see it and I'm not taking anything away from Jeremiah, I'd jump back in line to.  As far as the call, if 2 different crashes are going on during one yellow all parties should be charged for the yellow and sent to the back.  This wasn't a crash that happened because someone is slowing down to avoid an accident.  They just both happened while the white was being thrown.  One was seen, one wasn't. I agree I had a good race with everyone I was around except for Lee who blew our doors off.

Awesome job by Larry and Lee with a "used" car.  Too bad Dave and Chris had trans woes with the 3D or it might have been a  all Mottsinger show.  If Mr. Mottsinger were still with us and building cars VC might be a little nervous. Might even make a convert out of a dedicated leafer like me.

Yeah, thanks Dave T.

Thanks everyone for all the nice thoughts. One thing though, while I feel really good about this victory, I know that these 3 link cars can be a lot more humbling than my old leaf car was. Hopefully we can keep it close and keep on trucking.

One funny thing, we made a big adjustment at Pahrump to get the car to turn for me, but it still had monster forward bite. I was going to blaze the tires in front of the crowd after doing the interview at the Bud Nats, I mashed the gas pedal and that thing just jumped forward, and about run me into the pit exit. Larry has that thing getting awesome forward bite. I'm so glad Dave T agented that deal for Larry and I.

I don't know if I'm over the party(s) yet!

You'll have to ask Larry. All I did was loosen it up so it would turn, I don't know what he did to make it have forward bite like that.

Then I only turned 6300 in the main.I'm still a bit confused, but whatever works. I've actually won like 6 or 7 at Bako over the last couple years on the 6.20, but I guess 6.66 works too!

Thank You everyone for the congratulations. In 1991 Chris Smith with his car & me in my car, went to our first Bud Nationals, ever since then I have been trying to win any main event @ Bako, whether it be in a LM, Mod or SS. Now 20 years later with only his second time in the car, Lee Jensen gives me the main event win of life time. I can't thank him enough, also his wife, Skinny and all the supporters.

Here's the secret, you put a 500 RF, LR and the G60 RR, here's the important one, don't turn around any of the tires on the wheels after any useage, LF is just there, you can put a tricycle tire on that, it's just for steering & appearance anyway, those were the same tires that was on it @ Pahrump, the week before. Just maintained tire pressure, stagger was @ about 3". Then you put a lock down shock on the LR and then you tell driver, just don't unlock the tires from the ground. :-?.

We set up the bar 90 degrees to the trailer, and had a long coil of ice chests around it. With it set up like that, the rate of consumption is pretty good.  There weren't many trees by where we partied, so leaves weren't that big of an issue. Lol.

As far as the car, we raised the panhard bar on the rear end, checked pressures, and raced it. Larry had all the hard part done.
