Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by propit21 on 09/11/11 at 9:14pm got a few question for the bud nationals first is it going to be WCSS rules? what is the purse going to be? is it friday saturday or just friday? |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by dirtcar54 on 09/11/11 at 9:16pm i need to check out the motor in the padro car if its good to go i will get a driver for it ,mine will b ready for sure. |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by imracin68j on 09/11/11 at 9:19pm Hopefully this year it's full WCSS rules. Last year they allowed any 9 inch tire and guys were on 9 inch dirt bosses. Their best bet would be to comply to the G60 / 500 tire rule |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by dirtcar54 on 09/11/11 at 9:23pm I agree i no of three that went and got all new ones just for that race and one of them won it. |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by hogracer3d on 09/11/11 at 9:55pm Hoosier doesn't make the 9" dirt bozz's any more |

It's Friday Night ONLY I will try and have some info tomorrow Hope they stay with 100% WCSS Rules...think if they open it up it will hurt the car count |

Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by over4t on 09/12/11 at 9:06am The Lawrence Motorsports 4T is a strong probable, depending on my son's work schedule. Don't know which of us will be driving. Might have to arm wrestle him to decide. But not on the front stretch. ;D |

That would be cool to see you guys again |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by over4t on 09/12/11 at 9:21am Thanks, Dave. We're going to try. Backup plan is the 2 day show at Fernley Saturday and Sunday. Or maybe all 3 if things go right. A couple of shock changes and tires are all we'd have to do. I might need a few Red Bulls and 5 Hour Energy drinks to do it all. Season is almost over and want to get some traveling in and run some WCSS shows as it hasn't worked out yet. Our track count this year is some 7 or 8 short of last year and we really like running with you guys. Hope to see you guys there. |

Whats Fernley paying that weekend? |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by over4t on 09/12/11 at 2:44pm Reno Fernley info the Oct.8-9 show is supposed to be on their website today but isn't yet. Regular pro/super/street whatever stocks purse is $400,225,150,125,95 etc. with the usual Nevada 1/2 plus 1 field payout. They've been getting 11-14 pros but only had 8 this weekend. Would have had 9 but we got cold feet 30 miles from home in the Sierra when it looked like midnight at 2 p.m. and lightning was popping all over. Decided to save a 280 mile round trip for another day with better odds Joe Specchio won (Jesse Gonzales didn't show). Mods had 16 cars with Shawn Natenstadt the winner again. I'll put up more when Fernley puts it up. But you can run the Dirt Bozz there, Monica. |
Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by imracin68j on 09/12/11 at 3:48pm Pay structures: IMO the SS is equal to an IMCA when it comes to entertainment and performance/cost to operate and should be on the same purse structure. The argument comes up that a mod brings in more cars so they should get paid more. That argument is valid which is why all classes should be based on a car count minimum with a % reduction. When it comes to performance/cost factor the order is probably close to this. LM IMCA/SS Sport Mod/ Hobby Stock American stock/4 banger. To get SS to this race I would base the pay and race structure on the same lines as the IMCA mods based on a 25 car minimum. Especially if we are bumping the deal into a 2 day race which is double the cost to run. This way Scott gives the class what it's worth at a full field value and he doesn't get burned if drivers don't show up (Which I think they will if it's priced and formatted correctly.) This year at SMS Chris had around 25 cars for his 2 day race at 3000 to win. The Simkins memorial pulled 22-24 on a one day deal and no entry fee. The SS use to Qualify, heats, fast dash on Friday. Last time is was hotlaps and heat race then trailer on Friday. It feels like a waste of time or at least something they could have done on one night. Hopefully, they can restructure it to how it use to be and get the drivers pumped on this deal. Weekly: Personally, I would run every class, every week on a minimum car count and pay a % of the total based on the car count. Then no one can say sh@t about not getting paid what it's worth and the promoter doesn't get burned. If Late Models show up with 8 cars or the mods have 12 it's not worth the full price based on the entertainment alone, same with the SS. The SS is one of the best shows of the night with full fields, period. Price structure the class to what it's real value is and leave it up to the drivers to make it happen. Good call on the WCSS rule, that will bring in more cars alone. b |

Title: Re: Bud Nationals SS role call Post by over4t on 10/07/11 at 7:48am Looks good for us making it. Few odds and ends to finish today and, hopefully, we'll be ready. Brent's seat and setup is still in it and I'm too pooped to change one more thing so he'll be at the wheel. Looking for some good Dirt Bozzes, since we still run them up here, and a 6.76 or 6.83 gear, r& p or full pumpkin, so if anybody has them PM me or bring them with you. |
