Title: Bako piston tech question Post by ka_jd7and1 on 09/02/11 at 12:42pm Let's say that I have purchased a used hobby shortblock that is American stock legal other than the pistons being 2 valve relief instead of 4..... if I have 2 more valve reliefs machined into the pistons, would that be legal? The rules just say 4VR pistons, don't say whether the pistons must be manufactured that way. Hate to scrap plans for a good motor. Thanks. |

Title: Re: Bako piston tech question Post by ka_jd7and1 on 09/02/11 at 1:07pm I've heard it was legal, but you know how "Tech told me...." stories go when you're hearing it seventh-hand.... :edit: Should this be in the Bako forum and not the tech section? |
Title: Re: Bako piston tech question Post by Chad11 on 09/02/11 at 1:14pm 3. PISTONS: Stock OEM piston allowed. Any flat top piston allowed. No lighting of any kind. No domed pistons allowed. Pistons are no touch. 4 valve relief no longer required. |

Title: Re: Bako piston tech question Post by ka_jd7and1 on 09/02/11 at 1:46pm Chad, those are Hobby rules? The Americans say: Stock OEM pistons OK. Stock dished or forged 4 valve relieved flat top piston OK. Must be 4 valve relieved. |
