Title: Re: melt down Post by W1CK3D R4C1NG on 08/17/11 at 9:01pm it actually it burned thru 5 and 7 about a 1/4 inch deep thru the block and the head... 3 and 5 was burned thru about a 1/8 inch of the block and head... and it started to burn thru 1 and 3... i was expexting a blown head gasket but not like this when i toor it apart for Eric... it actually looks like some one took a cuttin torch to it... the part that gets me is that it ran pretty darn good on only 5 cylinders... it acted like it just needed to be timed better... well except having no power... 3, 5, and 7 had no compresson... Title: Re: melt down Post by 18racr on 09/02/11 at 1:03pm been there done that,,, blown head gaskets lead to that, it becomes a blow torch from the steam, super hot steam cuts right through the block and head, its from someone that keeps running the motor once it has over heated and whats left of the water becomes super hot steam/flame torch,,, I was leading a race with 5 laps to go when I realized my temp gauge was pegged, and like a dumb arss I said heck with it I'm gonna keep going, lets just say I didnt finish the last lap and it cost 2500 for the new motor,,oops... |
