Post by 18racr on 05/12/10 at 12:57pm

I know some guys like to travel to big shows, well heres one for them,,,
big 4/10 track,I know flyer says 3/8 but trust me,,IT'S NOT, closer to 1/2 than 3/8, lol,,, usually smooth and gets black,,guys run 650-683 final gear, 683 they turn 7800-7900,
They pay cash right after the main event,,,,No waiting for a check

so is it the pure stocks or street stocks, how competitive do you think a hobby from bako would be there if we changed tires intake and carb

We went to enid in 08, and most of those cars (ours included) were similar to a current Bako SS.

But these rules for the new place will exclude cars like ours, our old 360 was fast enough @570hp on the 4-bbl for Enid, and those take offs are not too bad.

About 1/2 way through the 50 lap main they started ridin wheelies when the track took rubber.

This division though sounds more subdued though, but a big track.

I'd bet it would take a good 450-550hp to be competitive.

I don't think I'd take a hobby with the regular rules motor.

I'd guess roller rockers, solid cam, good heads, headers and intake at a minimum.

And if you got access to anything bigger or better, I'd run it.

600 to 700hp aint gonna hurt you, as those tires are 10" wide. they will be slippery when cold, but get pretty good as they warm.

We took 16 tires with is, and used them in the 4 days, but we cut several, and they were free from trackside at Orange Show anyway.

good luck.

I'll bet you see Keith Heaslet there

Our rules on normal nights let us run 4 barrel carbs, solid cam, headers, roller rockers, but have to use stock GM intake.(lol). So change a couple things on your motor and come race. But I will tell you that some big motors will be coming out to play in this race just like they did in the bako 100 lapper, But I will also tell you its one of the fastest tracks you will ever race on, Big wide track, 10 inch tires and its not uncommon to see left front tire in the air with stockish suspension from all the rubber on the track ,I was hoping a few of you guys would come out and play, it would be cool to see Mcgowan, Johnsons, Brad Pounds , ETC..,They have all heard how fast the Cali guys are from me and they say Bring it...
Basically the cars are Hobbies. So caravan over and see how you guys hold up against our fast guys here.

Keith was in Enid when we went in 08, he lives in OK somewhere, unless he has come back to Cali recently.

Keith won his heat at Ada in the spring of 09. Early in the main the engine started knocking and was shut off. That was the repaired engine that he wanted to try out in the bottoms up in 08. He lives in Oklahoma now.
Did anyone notice FREE TIRES in 3D's post? FREE TIRES

Yep, u can find them all day for that price,,, I like the grooved ones myself, that way you can see what your getting instead of guessing whats left of the tire before grooving... Hope a few of you guys show up,,should be some bad ass racing.
