I know the tracks may feel they don't need a joint championship but they do. Even with the new rules Bak needs sms cars and sms needs bak cars. I haven't seen or heard anything about a championship of any kind. I'm not saying to sh@t can the local point series but you have to give the out of town drivers a reason to show. You have a group of drivers that have become comfortable showing up at the opposing track. Lose that and we're back to 2005 where sms never saw any bak cars and bak never saw any sms cars.

Wouldn't you rather have 2 track championships than 1 between both tracks? It's better like this anyway because the ones that cannot afford to travel can still run for a local championship. This will be what gets the car counts back up in this division, I think it was a great move. I don't like the limited schedule, but that will probably change once there is more cars. And there will be more cars. ;)

How does having a joint championship on top of a local championship change anything other than bringing in faster cars?

the cars that wanna travel will do so just like they did last year....im not saying im against it but having a joint championship is not going to make more cars travel. jmo

I hope you guys are right but I know your not.

When Scott threw non EW races the car counts were very low. Same for SMS.

most of the e/w races at SMS last year also had pitiful car counts. having a joint championship aint gonna change that. the only "full" field i remember was the simkins memorial, every other e/w race had 11-14 cars at SMS

FYI-------SMS didnt have any non e/w shows last year

The year before they did and they were pulling 8 cars. Subtract 4 cars from either side and it makes a big difference. Bak - 16-4=12 SMS 12-4=8

Cervantes is racing and it sucks because then no one will travel to go race at the other tracks unless it is a open show race like in October and November....

Billy I could be talking out of line here but I was going to run for points this year at bak in the ss but scott said he thoufght he wasent going to do a points deal here, Im thinking with the low car counts they are just going to combine the two tracks

and if they are cooperating by not "stepping" on each others dates i think those that want to travel to race more will.

find a sponsor and you can create a points fund.....lol
