I got a call at 9am this morning that some Bakersfield Mod drivers are heading to Vegas with Modified's so I checked here and nothing about it and was told Brad Pounds was OTW there as well... so

I did some checking and found out that tomorrow is a World of Outlaws race on the dirt track as well as the NASCAR race at the LVMS. The promoter of the World of Outlaws race called or talking to someone here and needed some Mod drivers to come for a filler show. My GF sent Tina a text ( Brads GF ) about it and she said yes Brad was on his way to Las Vegas.

Does anyone have any other info about this ? anyone else going?

Was told something about the first 20 cars to get there go dunno if that part is a rumor or not just wanted to get this out there.

I guess cause I'm so used to only checking the Saturday Night Racer section that it was not seen. :-?

Filler, what a crock, the Modifieds will put on a much better race than the winged dune buggys, anyday, any track. Great cars that aren't cheap called fillers is lame. JMO.

I just caught the highlights on SPEED...WOW!

Great race.

Remember we are asking some of those "Dune buggy" fans to give our Late Models a chance next weekend. I hope they keep an open mind or they will miss the race of the night.

I did see the highlights and no doubt it was a good finish. Curious what the car count was for the WoO and the mods, anybody know the numbers? Sure looked like a nice crowd on hand.

I would have guess about 30 of each. Yes the last lap was insane, but I dont base a race off of 1 lap. The entire race was good. I believe a product of the double file restarts. Jason Meyers came from 19th.

Although Damion Gardner came from 17th the night before in the USAC race and they are single file restarts.

I just think it is great that the WoO promotors are willing to allow the Mods and the LM to run in the same show. I believe that they recognize that these two classes can put on a great show for fans and compliment the Wing shows. It is all good. Filler? I dont think so, and they know that too. It is a great addition no matter what it is called. I see a great season ahead for the local CA tracks if the mods and LM strut their stuff.
