Great to see on the Santa Maria Speedway Membership Application that we now have to pay a fee for a car number if we want it reserved??? I thought home track drivers get their numbers?? Anything to make a buck... Then in the fine print of the membership I did not know that by signing the application we would "acknowledge and assume all responsibly for any charges," and have an "unconditional release on our behave of ourselves???" HHHMMMM looks like we need to go back to English class.... HaHaHa. Might want to proof read the membership application before you have members signing them. REALLY NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE PROOF READ BEFORE YOU POST ANYTHING!!!!

weve had to pay for the number for year's if you did'nt pay it & someone else showed up & payed it then you would have to get a new number & then pay to have new lettering done

It use to be that the driver from the pryer year had first right at his or her number.But after opening night that number became fair game for who ever wanted it.

I have never had to pay to have my same number for that year at the track and in the class. Why should I have to pay the track to run my number? That makes no sense what so ever? I pay my $100 for the year to be a member and I pay $35 for my entry fee and my number is on that. And with the winnings we don't even make our entry fee back so why pay another $25 for a number that I can add a letter to if needed?

I hope this is not true. The time to nickel and dime the racers is not this year. The economy is to bad for this sort of thing. Having said that Chris. K. has always done good for the racers so I will keep an open mind until I see it in writing. Chet

RUMORS fly!!!

Last year, membership was optional but IF you attended more than 10 races it was a better deal because you paid less to for a pit pass to enter and race (or crew).

From all appearances, it looks like this year will be the same.

CK is NOT the type to burn the racers that are the hand that feeds him, and has so far treated all fairly.

Keep in mind that he DOES need to make a profit.

I know Chris is good for the racers, that is my point. I also know he needs to make a profit but not off the racers. That is where promoting comes in and that is what seperates Chris K. from most. JMO chet.

Aaron if you want to be able to keep you'r number then that's why you or all of us pay for our number's , if you don't or anybody else don't & someone else pay's for that number then it's there number & you'll have to change you'rs

I don't think this is anything new. I seem to remember paying for my number last year, and i'm pretty sure I paid for my number under Swindell also.

Not saying it's a great thing to have to do, but I don't think it's new.

We have always paid for our number at Bakersfield. One for the season. One post read like he thought you had to pay it every race.

Remember folks,

This is OPTIONAL! If you want to reserve your number, then pay. If you don't, then don't.

Aaron, if you don't want to pay for your number, then don't. If someone else reserves your number, then add a letter to yours and be done with it.

Then go back to anger management classes. lol

THE ONLY THING THAT WENT UP THIS YEAR IS THE PURSE IN ALMOST ALL DIVISIONS !!!!!!

You know, I can do all the stuff I do. Like the big trophies, and the metal winner checks, and the bigger paying races, and the banquet, and the points fund money and the etc., and people still take the time to pregnant dog about $25 (once a year and optional) Its no wonder promoters turn into a**holes !!!
