The Democrats started pushing Health care in 93' when Hillary was behind it. it got shut down then.

The Republicans had the remaining 7 years of Clinton and 8 years of Bush to come up with a plan. (15 years).
They had to have known this battle was coming....
What is their plan?

Man, your starting to post like Dale Jr. drives. I googled Republican health care plans and got four or five in about .22 seconds. Personally, I don't like the government in the health care business, they screw it up, they couldn't handle the 4 billion dollar cash for clunkers deal, how in the heck are they going to handle a program a thousand times more difficult.

But, with that said, if the Government wants to get in the biz, stick to catastrophic illness. That's what scares people, if I get a broken arm, I can pay for that if I don't have insurance BUT if the insurance companies don't have to worry about Catastrophic illness, the cost of insurance aught to go down. Tie the plan to the persons income, if your a rich guy, you don't get much help, if your a poor guy you get alot of help, really simple stuff. I listened to a Dr. sitting in for Dennis Miller the other night that worked in the Canadian health care system for about 10 yrs. He said it does not work, bureaucrats try to be Dr.'s and people die

I could have Google'd it myself.... The fact that even a stout conservative like Duane had to Google it is exactly the point I'm trying to make. The republicans knew this battle was looming but really haven't gotten the word out on what they want to do to control the costs and the corruption in the drug companies and the insurance industry.....
and leave Dale Jr out of it! that's not even funny.....

The plans have been around for a while, not a long while but still a while. The only place you'll hear about them is on Fox or conservative talk radio. Who's fault is that? I don't know, maybe it could be the lib slanted one sided media in this country. Look at the number of News Papers in trouble and the falling ratings in the Big Three news cast and the rise in the Fox news. Maybe people are starting to listen and learn and read.

I have been hard on the new head of the Republican party for not getting the word out, but he can't, if the big three and the news papers ignore his press releases and allow Obama to suck up all the oxygen in the room, so to speak, what is he supposed to do.

I heard an interesting thing about why some of the medical costs are high,and getting higher these days. Its only one of many reasons,i'm sure. Doctors are ordering needless, expensive tests, to cover their own butts from future litigation. One of the things Republicans have said for MANY years, is, we need tort reform. I think I agree.

How about this
1. Tort reform, Maybe doctors would not have to practice defensive medicine
2. Legislation to increase competition in the health insurance industry
3 Directing our focus on illegal immigration, so the payers are not paying for the non payers

I don't claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed, But it makes sense to me.

I may be wrong, but wasn't Geitner head of the SEC in NY for the last 8 years? It seems to me that there were discussions concerning his role in the mortgage crisis

He was actually the head of the NY branch of the Federal Reserve. But he's got blood on his hands for other things.
