Hi Scott, This is Tom Breshears I know how much SMS needs a water truck. I ran the old one to death in 2005 trying to keep water in our sandy clay. I can find out from John P. our Dave S. If thay will take it. If so, I have a class A Lic. and can help get it here. My Cell # (805) 478-3285.

I had a hard time trying to keep the dust down with that old truck in 05. I can't belive it made threw 06.

Yeah but it made for some of the best racing SMS has seen in years. Good luck either way and I dont believe Scott said who he was giving it to.

I have seen both water trucks at both tracks . my vote is for chow. when the door at handford slamed shut in 2005.so did all the equipment. if it gos to sms make sure it stays there not go by by in case some one??? leaves, have a nice ho ho eveybody

SCOTT - Why can't tracks build irrigation systems. It seems if you had a sprinkler system on the track not only would you save time by not having to go out there all day and water but you could save gas. It would seem that you could probably irrigate the whole place for under 500. Not only that it would leave the track cracked open for water to get into. I'm probably clueless on this, that's why im a dumb dirt tracker.. lol You could almost put the thing on a timer system and fine tune the conditions with that.

Billy good question and here is my answer. #1 problem. If you put the sprayers in the inside of the track cars would run them over when they put a wheel on the berm. Out side the track gets coverd in mud slung by the cars. Then when I scrape the clay down I would hit the sprayers. #2 problem. Control of amount of water. At my track the front straight can't take as much water because it's in the shade all day. The back straight gets dry because of the wind and the turns are so banked that the water runs down it to fast. With a water truck I can adjust for all the conditions when I water to get an even amount of water. I already looked into a watering system but I would still have to keep an eye on it just as much as watering with a truck. Scott

wow, wouldn't that be a great idea for SMS...be able to PUMP the water from a USELESS part of the track..back out onto the track where it is NEEDED. IT could help DRY the facility...while watering it.

instead of pumping all the rain water OFF the site, build a holding facility and use a trash pump or something to pump it back into a sprinkler system mounted on top of the walls. WOOOHOOOO

Not water truck related. What about hooking up an airline with 20 fitting on the hotlane that we could all use. Maybe someone donates a compressor. Then all we only need airlines and impacts. I'd help pitch in for that. Id say it would be around 75 dollars in material less the compressor. Hauling a nitrogen bottle or compressor from the back pit area stinks. lol

I'll do the air line and fittings if you find a compresser. We are having a issue with elect. outlets on the first two rows and this idea would help my other problem. Scott

You know what Billy, Terry Henry has that big compresser in the tire shack and it's hooked to my elect pole so maybe we can plumb it into the front line? Ask your radio partner and he can make it happen. Scott
