Title: New East vs West Website Post by mama68 on 11/27/06 at 6:52pm Thanks to Lee Jensen, we now have our own website for the E/W series It is still in the early stages but the address is : www.eastwestshootout.com Lee is starting to add things to the site, and if anyone has things they think would be beneficial for the site, just let us know |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 11/28/06 at 9:09pm This is still a work in progress. If any of the personal info is wrong or missing on the driver page, just send me the corrections and I'll fix them. I plan on getting the site lined out better now that we're done racing. I might even get some help from Billy when he's not making movies. Eventually I would like to put up some facts about all the drivers, cars, and crews. Maybe we could do something constructive here and come up with a list of things fans might want to know about the drivers. |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by mama68 on 11/29/06 at 9:26am I totaly agree Lee, this site should be not just for us racers, but for the fans to check things out. I think we can make it really cool. Get Billy working on the graphics part of it, like he did when our site was up, with sound and all. It would be great if all drivers would send Lee or myself, a little bio on themselves, and maybe their favorite picture of their car. Also it's very important to acknowledge our series sponsors, like Fast Undercar and Little Darlin's,and any others we get for the series, and the sponsors of our race teams, because without them, we couldn't do what we do. So everyone get working on your contribututions to the E/W site. Thanks |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 11/29/06 at 9:29am Be sure to send good clean head shots of drivers and crew! |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by imracin68j on 11/29/06 at 9:33am I give my word any head/car shots given to the ew site will not be used in any skits or photo alterations on my behalf. * * Excludes any photos that I've curruently used.. Especially the ones of sparky. I will never stop using those. |

I'll give my word that I won't use them in skits or alterations either. We want the site to be a success. I don't know if anyone will believe us Billy. Kearns might give us his picture, it can't get any worse for him. We can start regaining trust there! |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 11/29/06 at 12:40pm If your having trouble viewing the page, try this link. I think it may have something to do with the domain name forwarding, since both websites are on my one account. We'll get the E vs W site up on it's own account soon. http://www.leejensenracing.com/eastwest/index.htm |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by mudslinger47 on 11/29/06 at 3:06pm Great job Lee, OK guys, get your info on the site. |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 11/29/06 at 5:54pm Updated for Chris Ades and Chad Burns. Everyone: Send pictures to jrtracing23@yahoo.com, and I'll try to get them up as soon as I can. You could also send a biography. Along with driver Bios send some silly facts also, like favorite food, least favorite food, what your scared of (if anything lol), your favorite street car, or anything to let the public know a little more about us. I invited another horseshoer to the races one time (he had never been), he said it was great because he knew someone to root for. We want the public to feel they know us. The E vs W site is going to try some neat things to get our name out to the public. Send me info! |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by fromthegrandstands on 11/30/06 at 1:19pm Glad to the the East vs. West getting their own site to promote this series. Anything that brings the local racing seen to the public is a good thing... |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 11/30/06 at 11:17pm Sandie, Maybe you could send me some facts about Billy and get the ball rolling. I added a few links on the teams page and would like to put some more personal info on there for each team as I go. |

Thanks guys, but that's not exactly the stats I had in mind! The other guys face withheld to protect the innocent. |

Please take into consideration the effects this will have on his family. You wouldn’t want to embarrass them now would you? :) |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 12/02/06 at 9:16pm If he had family that truly cared about him, they wouldn't have let him wear that hat. LOL. |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by jrtracing on 12/02/06 at 9:35pm BTW, I did get a little something up for Johnny, but I left the above picture out. I'll save you the embarrasment for now kelly! |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by Sparky56 on 12/03/06 at 8:18pm Speaking of EvsW, John from Oceanspeedway want to talk to Sandie on some dates for next season.............. |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by mama68 on 12/03/06 at 9:03pm I have been trying to get the confirmations back on the tentitive schedule for 07 that was sent to the tracks, so we can know where we stand for 07. Right now, we have 6 regular shows at SMS - 6 at Bakersfield - 3 at Handford - 1 special Bottoms up 100 at Bakersfield for the 4th of July race ( June 30th ) - 1 special 50 lapper at SMS on Memorial weekend for the Simkins Memorial ( Sunday may 28th ). That makes 17 E/W shows. What would be awesome, but maybe just a pipe dream, is to get a couple of the tracks up north, and their teams together, and form a northern East vs West, and we would have the southern East vs West, and then at the end of the year, we could have 4 or 5 race shootout for an overall championship. All cars under 1 rule book. we could run a seperate regular championship for the north and the south, then an overall champion. Oh well just a thought for the future... |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by Sparky56 on 12/04/06 at 7:42pm I take it it's a no for Watsonville(Ocean) |

I didn't say that Sparlettes, I was just stating where we are so far. The only problem I can see right now, is that this series was set up as a shootout between a couple of race tracks to build up car counts, and if we start doing alot of traveling, we short change the tracks that agreed to work with us on this program, which would defeat the purpose of our series to begin with. I know the problem that alot of the tracks are having right now, with low car counts, and I would love nothing more than to help everyone of them, but I can't do it at the expense of the drivers, and the tracks that are involved. That's why I was saying about having different sections of the E/W would be great, that way it wouldn't hurt the tracks, but help them, and their drivers. It takes alot of work to make this kind of racers for racers series work, and we have to be very careful not to to take away from what we have accomplished so far. We want to continue to grow, and spread out, but it's going to take time, and one of the first things that need to be worked on is the one common rule book idea, so there would be no problems when drivers go to different tracks to race. Anyway, I told John I would call him, and now that my voice is starting to come back, maybe he will be able to hear me. ( Had a nasty case of larrengitious (sp) for over a week now ) Now I just have that raspy sexy sounding voice going on..ha ha..lol |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by Sparky56 on 12/05/06 at 3:13pm Hey Ma, sorry that your were sick. When I was at Machado's wedding, the northern guys said John had been waiting to here back from you. They said he was ready to change his rules and pay the purse, but wouldn't do anything 'til he heard back from you. I told them I would put a bug in your ear.(not your throat) Sir Spark Alot........................... |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by whoya on 12/09/06 at 5:40am Yeah I agree with mama, If you spread yourself to other tracks that would leave fewer dates at the local tracks. The local tracks would suffer. E vs W was designed to help the drivers and the tracks. By ensuring a minimum number of races at local tracks, E vs W ensures themselves a local facility to race at. If the teams want to travel I guess that would be ok. as long as you guys take care of the local promoters that have worked with you to get E vs W off the ground. JMHO CHRIS |
Title: Re: New East vs West Website Post by mudslinger47 on 12/09/06 at 8:09am Having been to Oceans Speedway before and after new management their might not be a more improved facility around. From the officials to John they do an excellent job. One or two shows would be awesome their. That track is very fun to drive. Im still waiting and praying LOL that we get to race the LM their. John if you read this put the LMs on the schedule. Chet. |
