06 - Someone from Brawley (what I heard) won. They weighed him 5 times before his car finally weighed 3001lbs. They DQ'd the second place finisher for being too light. I don't know who was officially second, but Mitch Michado ended up 3rd. Denman was looking good early until something went wrong with his distributor. He got it changed, but was many laps down. Cardoza was running about 5th until he suffered a flat tire, and then overheated late in the race. Chris Smith should have transferred out of his heat race, but he didn't go to the scales. He had to transfer out of the last chance race. He had flat tires and other problems in the main also. I can tell you about all this because I went out early due to engine problems.

Hey Lee, the winner was Becker and he did scale 3,001 after 3 or 4 tries. Ed Perry was second on the track. The 3rd place car was DQ'd after being light. They gave him 3 tries and he ended up at 2989 each time. That moved everyone behind him up one spot and Mitch ended up 3rd, Chris Smith was 5th, Johhny was 6th, Rich ended up 11th. The white 68 car was scored 4th, but was seen actually going into the cold pit area and was in the hot pits numerous times. A really bad scoring snafu on that one. Oh well, the season is finally over and the car came back all in one piece. Good trip down there and that track was fun and fast!

We had the same concerns about the 68 car, hope they review the scoring--Dave

Hey Dave, before Imperial cuts the checks is there a way we can ask for a scoring review? Mitch's new wife, Rich, Shannon, they all were watching that 68 car go in and out of the pits, including one trip into the cold pit area.

The 06 is a Gary Sigmond (PRE)car driven by Rick Becker, He won with his 2-bbl on, and didn't even look as if he was running it hard

You're right, he did look like he was on cruise control out there. We were standing near turn 4 entry and he was driving it in deep and going in with a lot of corner speed. Very impressive. What happened to him Sunday at Victorville?

He was right behind us most of the event until we got the black flag, then he came off shortly after that torn up with a flat left rear, but I don't know what happened. as we were kicking dirt at the time
